Have History Come Alive
When you hire Robert "Bob" Anderson and Stephen "Steve" Waller for your special event.
Robert "Bob" Anderson was born into a pioneer Colorado family in 1943. His paternal grandfather, Oscar William Anderson, once sold a touring car to Colonel William Fredrick "Buffalo Bill" Cody. As a child, Bob loved listening to the tales his grandfather told and he also read many books, including his grandfather's collection of the first edition Zane Grey stories.
Bob joined the U.S. Navy in 1961, serving two combat deployments to Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged in 1966. In 1971, Bob was in Prescott on business and, like many visitors before him, he strolled for the first time down "Whiskey Row" and walked through the swinging bat-wing doors of the historic Palace Saloon and Restaurant. Junior Bonner was being filmed there at the time. Little did Bob realize that thirty-five years later, he would trade a suit and tie for authentic historical garb as he and partner, Stephen Waller, "Meet and Greet" visitors to the Palace from around the world.
Bob and Stephen met at the Palace in 2006 and struck up an immediate friendship based on their mutual appreciation of history. Ever since, they have spent most weekends and holidays entertaining both residents and tourists alike with stories of the old west and military history, answering questions about their garb - which runs the gamut from the Confederate and Union uniforms to Indian scouts and Scottish regalia - and having their photos taken by literally hundreds of appreciative folks.
Stephen Waller was born in England in 1950 and immigrated to the United States after graduation from High School. He became a naturalized citizen in 1994 and moved to Prescott in 1998. Here he found not only a historical town but residents who love to portray different aspects of western histor. Both he and Bob are members of the Prescott Victorian Society. They also recentlhy discovered that they both have ancestors who fought in the Civil War and subsequently have joined the Sons of Confederate Veterans. They use their vast knowledge and love of history to entertain and informa such diverse groups as the residents of the Arizona Pioneer's Home and the Boys and Girls Club. They are available for your special events by contacting Bob at (928) 273-3877 or Steve at (928) 830-1813
